(Revised) On April 22 2009, Gretchen writes in her BRAVO blog,
“My campaigning started the weekend of April 4th. I was asked to participate in the Orange County Boat Show, autographing pictures, selling little sailor teddy bears for the kids, and selling wristbands that said “relentless†with all proceeds going back to the Jeff Beitzel fund and LLS. A portion of all ticket sales went back to LLS and the Jeff Beitzel Fund as well! It was a really fun event and I got to meet a lot of great and wonderfully giving individuals.”
The Jeff Beitzel fund and LLS. Not The Jeff Beitzel Memorial Fund within the LLS. Not LLS in memory of Jeff Beitzel. It says the Jeff Beitzel fund and LLS. That was a year ago, where did the proceeds and the portion of all ticket sales go? She continues,
“I will be ending my campaign on June 5th with a big Gala for all the hard work all the candidates have done throughout the last ten weeks! I look forward to continuing in the fight against cancer way past June 5th!

I hate to say this but I fell for it, the whole Jay story, how Tamra was just jealous and lied. The more I read and heard about her and Jay, the more I started having my doubts. I gave her the benefit of doubt as long as I could but by the middle of this season I was done. You can only buy that, everyone is out to get poor me for so long and this is just another example of that.

I am so over this lying, conniving, pathological whore. She can’t tell the truth because she doesn’t remember what the truth is.
If you or I had faked a charitable organization and accepted donations for it, we’d have been investigated and arrested for fraud. But not Gretchen Rossi … she gets away with this shit AND gets someone at the charity to vouch for her fraud. Un-freakin-believable.

@Lizzie I don’t think this will go away over night. I would imagine it will be looked in to further. I’m sure in her eyes, it’s all settled now because ‘she explained everything.’ Not everybody buys that sh*t!!
Maybe this will end up being her reality check.

She is essentially blaming LLS, as she has blamed Tamra, Jay,Jeff’s ex wife,and all the other haters who have come before and will come after.

Thank you for the direct number to Piper. I have just called and left a message asking Piper to call me. I will also be leaving a message for a contact I have at LLS who is actually the one that approached Gretchen and I to nominate her for woman of the year.
Once I have confirmed information from the LLS represtenatives that were at lunch with Gretchen and I to nominate her for woman of the year I will let you know what I find.
FYI. Gretchen did ask if they could set up a fund/foundaion at this lunch. And I know the answer she was told then.
LLS is a great charity.

@Jay — so, Andrea Greif (the mouthpiece) is now answering all inquiries regarding this fiasco with Gretchen? That’s rich!
I wonder if Gretchen befriended Andrea Greif somewhere along the line? I’m fed up with the cons, the lies and the conniving from this skank. She blames LLS for this mess? Whatever. She blames everyone for her problems because she’s an immature little kid who can’t accept responsibility for her own actions.
Where did the money go that was supposedly raised for the Jeff Beitzel Fund? Who has it? Slade?
Fraud is fraud. Gretchen was actively out “there” soliciting donations. I find it extremely hard to believe that she didn’t have any follow up or contact with LLS over the past year to either confirm or deny the existence of the fund. Anyone who has done legitimate charity work knows that there is always a paper trail of correspondence, or at the very least emails and phone calls.
So, I remain skeptical. If LLS is going to bail Gretchen out on this one, I’m done with them.

Well I just had a long conversation with Andrea at LLS in New York. I am now more concerned than before about what is going on.
Andrea stated she has alittle more information than she did on Friday and will need to go over this with her boss who is away till Thursday.
I am pleasantly surprised with my conversation and I feel LLS is looking into miscommunications/misunderstanding and will continue to look in to these to clear this matter up.
I am waiting for a call back and will comment more at that time. I encourage anyone with comments concerns or question to contact LLS. They gave me the genuine feeling if there is still a miscommunication of information out there, they will address it.

What “miscommunication” are they talking about?
Are they trying to explain this all away to keep Gretchen from being exposed as a lying fraud? Or, did someone at LLS really set up poor Gretchen to make her look bad?
The whole thing has a really bad smell about it. No matter how you slice it, LLS looks bad. Either they’re covering up Gretchen’s lies, or they dropped the ball. Either way, it doesn’t paint a picture of an organization that’s on the up-and-up and has its shit together.

I’m sorry if my comments caused a problem on this site. That was never my intention.
If people on this site don’t like Gretchen or her conniving ways, so be it. She put herself out there in the public eye for all to see. Of course people are going to comment, especially when she tried to portray herself as Florence Nightingale and in reality she is more like Lucretia Borgia.

Lizzie: I think your comments are right on point.
Marissa: We’re not talking personalities or hurt feelings here. We’re talking about cancer and fraud.
None of us know Gretchen personally but you know what I do know? I have raised nearly $20,000 in the last two years for LLS in my late sister’s memory and not one dollar is unaccounted for. I never publicly stated that I started a foundation in her name, raised money for that foundation, and then failed to turn that money over to LLS.
What Gretchen has done reflects poorly on LLS. Donations are way down for all charitable organizations and LLS is no exception. Some of us work very hard to support them in their mission and it doesn’t help that they are getting all this bad press just at the start of their fundraising season.
How can you even defend her conduct when she’s hurting people who fight for cancer patients and their families? That says more about you and Gretchen than any of us could ever say.

This site is not one sided and not a tool to bash anyone; however, Ms. Rossi has spun such a web of lies and half truths that this has inflamed lots of folks. If you only make posts that name call and say rude things about other posters your comments will not be allowed because the people who post here are civil to each other. On another note, Jay Photoglou is not a tool. He is a man who was lied about and maligned by Ms. Rossi and righfully sued her and won. I do not know him so that is not why I am saying this. Facts are facts that cannot be changed no matter how many times those like me who bring the facts to light are responded to by being called jealous haters.

Jay: I have a hunch that the person bobblehead is blaming for not setting up the fund was fired. I’m wondering if this person was caught doing something wrong w/ something unrelated to the JB fund, and bobblehead knows she can point her finger. How conveeenient! I think this PR person doesn’t want anyone digging that up.
I also think that they know bobblehead is a sociopath and would do something like sue them,
like she tried to sue you, for defamation. They just
want this thing to go away

I have spoken with Kerry and Rosemary @ So Cal Marine Assoc this morning. These are the people that put on the Orange county boat show. I was inquiring as to Gretchen’s claims a portion of ALL ticket sales would be donated to the fund/foundation. I have just confirmed a $2,000 check was written from SCMA to LLS. NOT the Foundation/fund she claims to have started. I applaud Gretchen for her efforts in this case. But it still raises the question. Where did the money go for the items she claims she was selling (ie picture w/signature, bands and stuffed animals???) at this event? Did Gretchen have a business lic to be selling and collecting this money. Did LLS recieve this money FROM Gretchen? Was that check made out to the fund/foundation Gretchen claims to have started? I am now going to be looking into Gretchen’s claims of SELLING items which have been confirmed by SCMA… I encourage people who were there to come forward with a reciept or statement…

Update:
I have spoken to Andrea again. The above is the LLS’s statement.
I do not know if they will talk to the 2 employees that are no longer with LLS. Andrea seemed to be the messenger, not knowing alot of details, I now believe she may be doing what she is told and not trying to create waves.
Either way the statement is from LLS and I wish them luck in their fundraising efforts.
